Therefore, I’m overwhelming with excitement. Another post for basic Home Studio Recording.

Giving some background information, I’ve been recording music with my personal computer for almost 5 years now. I have a little experience at amateur recording. Well, if the budget is very limited, and you think that you are talented, you can start the same way that I did, save up for a reasonable recording studio.

If you own a computer, you pretty much got half of what you need for your recording projects. A sequencer program for recording called Cool Edit Pro (CEP) is what I started with. There are many programs to record music, but I found CEP to be quite good to started with.

And the equipments to set up my studio as follow:

1. This is the condensor mic you will need: (there are two types of microphone: condensor and dynamic). Condensor microphone will be using for recording while dynamic microphones are used for live performance, basically.

2. this cable below will from the microphone, transfer waves to your mixer

3. this is the mixer u will need (cheapest)

4. from the mixer…the waves will transfer by this cable below to your soundcard.

5. the small end…will go into the MIC HOLE in your soundcard. You may suggest:


It’s an M-audio Fast Track. Will compatible for both Window and Mac. Good start.

6. that’s it! Basically.

7. You will not need any shock mount because the microphone include it already.

8. You might consider a mic-stand

9. A pop filter for more quality sound

10. You might consider a pair of monitors and a good headphone. Below are items I chose that simple and cheap and … good.

That’s it!! the whole system. It’s very basic, but it could get you very nice quality if you know what you are doing. Well, the most important is your natural talent. And trust me, practice does make a different!!!

This is my first post in my first blog.
Well, I really didn’t intend to start making a blog, until I came across some stranger in the hallway at school.
